Overview

INTERNAL USE ONLY Private Cloud Infrastructure Engineer – Cyber Recovery SME Purpose: As a Private Cloud Infrastructure Engineer at Zurich, you will be part of the Retained Platform operations team in our Datacentre Services Function. The team is responsible for the ownership and delivery of the Zurich managed private cloud services and for ensuring platform stability and security in adherence to the relevant industry best practices. Your role will be core to maintaining stability, security and operational integrity of the Dell Powerflex VMware environment on the Zurich Retained Platform. In addition to providing Platform support and enhancements, you will be required to lead the deployment and management of the new Cyber Recovery Vault environment (Dell Data Domain, Dell PowerProtect Data Manager (PPDM), and Data Domain Virtual Edition (DDVE) in AWS). Key Responsibilities:

• Ownership of Retained Platform support, maintenance and enhancements
• Provide subject matter expertise on the following infrastructure elements: o Compute o Storage - Software defined and Physical o Cyber Recovery o Networking o Database o Monitoring o Supporting Services such as DNS, DHCP, PKI etc.
• Lead the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of the new CRV infrastructure (on-premises Dell Data Domain & PPDM and DDVE & S3 Storage in AWS) o Ensure secure, air-gapped, and immutable backup storage for critical data. o Oversee backup, replication, and recovery workflows, including automation and orchestration o Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and application teams to ensure seamless integration and protection of critical workloads o Monitor, test, and continuously improve cyber recovery processes, including regular recovery drills, incident response exercises and post-incident recovery o Advanced troubleshooting and support for VMware environments as they relate to backup and recovery operations
• Maintain Knowledge Base articles and have ownership for the cyber recovery policies, procedures, and runbooks
• Provide out of hours on-call support for production environments
• Collaborate with networking, security, and application teams to ensure secure and robust operations INTERNAL USE ONLY
• Continuously monitor platform usage, focusing on transparency and efficiency and provide clear, actionable insights on platform efficiency/improvements.
• Design, build and implement tools to aid observability, identification and resolution of incidents that occur on the platform with a strong emphasis on reducing MTTR
• Stay current with emerging threats, technologies, and best practices Your Skills & Experience: Required
• 3+ years' experience in Datacentre technology and operations
• Proven experience with the Dell Technologies suite, including PowerFlex Rack, PowerFlex Manager, Data Domain and PPDM, with a deep understanding of their integration and interoperability
• Must have experience with Virtualisation / Hypervisors using VMware vSphere 8, ESXi and data protection, backup/recovery for Virtual Environments
• Must have end-to-end experience managing a Cyber Recovery Vault environment including how to ensure operational integrity, security, and compliance
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of Cyber Recovery Vault concepts, architecture, and best practices.
• Experience with Hybrid HCI and CI Platforms
• Experience of Cross Platform and Hybrid Platform VM migrations
• Experience with Physical and Virtual Networking
• Experience with SDS Systems and Physical Storage Systems
• Experience with Windows Server and RHEL administration and maintenance
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills and the ability to work under pressure
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts with clarity
• Extensive knowledge of Identity and Access Management, with a strong focus on implementing best practices Desirable
• Scripting and automation (PowerCLI, Bash, Python, Ansible, Terraform)
• Experience of on-prem to public cloud migrations
• Microsoft Power Platform / SharePoint development
• Professional certifications
