Overview
Work From Home | Full‑Time Full‑Time Starting salary: ₹7,500 / month | Join a Team of 10 Developers | IST Timezone
Report to: CEO / Head of Product
What makes this role unique:
You will own the product vision, requirements, backlog, and success metrics for our 5 production apps (web, iOS, Android) – without any project management responsibilities (no sprint planning, no release coordination, no resource tracking).
Tech you’ll work with (you don’t need to code, but you must understand the stack enough to talk to engineers):
Frontend: Expo React Native
Backend: Node + MongoDB
DevOps: AWS
Automation: Detox + Playwright
Tools: Jira / Linear / Notion / Figma / Miro / Amplitude / Mixpanel
You need to have a technical background (e.g., past coding experience, CS degree, or strong familiarity with full‑stack development) – because you’ll write detailed acceptance criteria and work closely with engineers every day.
About the Role
Are you obsessed with solving user problems and defining what to build next? Do you love writing PRDs, prioritising backlogs, analysing metrics, and talking to customers – while leaving sprint planning and release tracking to a Project Manager?
Join our dynamic team of 10 developers and take full ownership of:
Product discovery – user research, competitive analysis, problem validation
Requirements definition – writing clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and PRDs
Backlog prioritisation – using data, business value, and technical feasibility
Success metrics – defining and tracking KPIs (retention, engagement, conversion)
Stakeholder alignment – working with design, engineering, QA, and leadership
You will work alongside experienced mentors and have a direct impact on what we build and why.
What We Offer
Work from home with flexible hours (core overlap: 10 AM – 3 PM IST)
Competitive full‑time salary (commensurate with experience)
Mentorship from senior product leaders and engineers
Exposure to the full lifecycle of 5 production apps
Opportunity to grow into a Senior Product Manager or Head of Product role
Requirements
Mandatory (must meet at least ONE of the following):
Past experience as a Product Manager, Associate Product Manager, or Product Owner (internships or full‑time)
OR a certificate in Product Management (e.g., Pragmatic Institute, Product School, Scrum Product Owner, or any recognised PM certification)
OR have read the following book (provide proof of completion – a short summary or notes):
“Inspired: How to Create Tech Products Customers Love” by Marty Cagan
Strongly preferred (but NOT mandatory):
Basic familiarity with full‑stack development (enough to understand technical tradeoffs – no coding required)
Experience with analytics tools (Amplitude, Mixpanel, Google Analytics)
Experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria for mobile apps (Expo React Native) or Node.js backends
Technical understanding (required):
You must be comfortable discussing APIs, databases, frontend components, and basic cloud concepts with engineers – even if you don’t write code daily.
Compensation & Growth Path Starting salary: ₹7,500 per month (fixed)
First-year growth: Based on performance (ownership, bug detection quality, reliability), your salary can increase up to ₹15,000 per month within the first 12 months.
Second-year growth: Exceptional performers who continue to deliver and take on more responsibility can reach up to ₹35,000 per month in their second year.
Availability:
Able to join daily sync‑ups at 10 AM IST
Open to occasional evening calls for user interviews or launch coordination
Can join within 2 weeks
Attitude:
User‑obsessed and data‑informed
Comfortable with ambiguity and changing priorities
Loves the “why” (product) more than the “when/how” (project)
Responsibilities (Pure Product Management)
Product discovery & research:
Talk to users, gather feedback, run surveys or user interviews
Analyse competitor products and market trends
Requirements & PRDs:
Write detailed product requirement documents (PRDs)
Create user stories with clear acceptance criteria
Work with designers to validate mockups and workflows
Backlog & prioritisation:
Own and prioritise the product backlog (not sprint planning – that’s PjM)
Use value vs. effort frameworks (RICE, MoSCoW, etc.)
Balance technical debt, bugs, and new features
Metrics & success:
Define success metrics for each feature (e.g., retention, conversion, error rate)
Monitor analytics dashboards and share insights with the team
Make data‑driven decisions to iterate or roll back features
Communication:
Align stakeholders (design, engineering, QA, leadership) on product direction
Demo new features to internal teams and explain the “why”
No project management responsibilities:
You will not run sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, or track release timelines. That is handled by a separate Technical Project Manager.
Hiring Process
Initial Screen (30 min) – Phone call with CEO to discuss product experience and fit
Take‑home Case Study (2–4 hours) – Write a PRD + success metrics + prioritisation for a sample feature
Live Discussion (1 hour) – Walk through your case study with the engineering and product team
Final Interview (30 min) – Cultural fit and career goals with CEO
Additional Notes
This is a paid, full‑time role with competitive compensation. We are looking for someone who wants to grow into a leadership product role over time.
After 6–12 months, exceptional Technical Product Managers may be considered for Senior Product Manager or Head of Product roles.
Our 5 paid team members today were all interns earlier – we promote from within. If you have the drive, you’ll grow with us.
