Role & responsibilities:
- Lead the architecture and design of a next-generation cloud-based, fullstack SaaS platform for digitally delivered life insurance.
- Make key architectural decisions to ensure scalability, performance, security, and cost-effectiveness of the solution.
- Drive the development of scalable and secure backend systems using Node.js and modern architectural patterns.
- Provide frontend architecture guidance with TypeScript, React, or other modern JS frameworks.
- Collaborate closely with developers and product managers to design, develop, and deploy performant systems.
- Drive efficiency improvements across the SDLC — from system design (HLDs/LLDs) to CI/CD and code quality enforcement.
- Mentor and guide developers on fullstack architecture best practices, performance tuning, and clean code principles.
- Design data models and schemas, and develop integrations with 3rd party systems (REST, SOAP, XML/JSON).
- Work closely with DevOps and Infrastructure teams to ensure high reliability, observability, and compliance (HIPAA, AWS stack).
Candidate requirements:
- 10+ years of hands-on development experience, primarily in backend (Node.js) and frontend technologies.
- Strong experience in JavaScript/TypeScript, with solid knowledge of React, Node.js, and REST/GraphQL APIs.
- Deep understanding of system design, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Practical experience designing and building secure, production-ready systems.
- Skilled in tools like Docker, CI/CD pipelines, profilers, APM tools, and AWS services (S3, Lambda, RDS, EC2, ECS).
- Experience working in SaaS-based architectures and cloud-native environments.
- Exposure to test-driven development and abstraction layer design.
- Strong collaboration and mentoring skills in a fast-paced, agile team environment.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
