Backend Developer – Fintech / Payments

Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated Backend Developer to join our growing fintech team and contribute to the development of secure, scalable, and high-performance Payment APIs. In this role, you will work with Python (FastAPI) and Node.js (Express.js) to build backend services that power seamless digital transactions.

This position offers hands-on exposure to real-time financial systems, close collaboration with frontend and product teams, and the opportunity to grow in a fast-paced startup environment while taking ownership of critical backend components.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable, and high-performance backend services and payment APIs.

• Integrate and manage third-party payment gateways and fintech services.

• Collaborate with frontend, product, and QA teams to support end-to-end product functionality.

• Implement strong security practices and ensure compliance across all backend systems.

• Write clean, well-documented, testable, and maintainable code.

• Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and continuous improvements.

• Stay updated with backend technologies, fintech trends, and payment ecosystems.

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Strong hands-on experience with Python (FastAPI) and/or Node.js (Express.js).

• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and backend architecture.

• Experience working with databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar.

• Basic understanding of payment systems and fintech workflows is a plus.

• Knowledge of backend security best practices and secure coding standards.

• Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous learning mindset.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and take ownership of deliverables.

Nice to Have (Preferred)

• 3+ years of backend development experience.

• Internship or project experience in fintech, payments, or financial systems.

• Exposure to Git/version control, API testing tools (Postman), and CI/CD pipelines.
