Python Backend Developer (APIs & Product Systems)

Role Overview
We are looking for a Python Backend Developer who can take end-to-end ownership of backend systems for modern web and mobile applications. The role involves building scalable APIs, collaborating closely with frontend teams, and contributing to production-grade product architectures.
This role requires independent execution, strong engineering fundamentals, and a clear understanding of how backend systems support real user workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs using Python & Flask
• Take independent ownership of backend modules—from design to deployment
• Collaborate closely with frontend and mobile teams to define API contracts and data structures
• Build and manage backend integrations with databases and third-party services
• Implement authentication, authorization, and access control
• Ensure performance, scalability, and security of backend services
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
• Debug, optimize, and refactor existing systems
• Participate in technical discussions, architecture decisions, and sprint planning
• Manage source code using GitHub (PRs, reviews, branching)

Required Skills & Experience
Core Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in Python
• Hands-on experience with Flask (FastAPI experience is a plus)
• Proven experience building REST APIs
• Solid understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL / MySQL)
• Experience with ORMs (SQLAlchemy or similar)
• Knowledge of API authentication mechanisms (JWT, token-based auth)
• Comfortable with Git / GitHub workflows

Engineering Fundamentals

• Strong understanding of backend architecture and data modelling
• Ability to write production-quality code
• Experience with:
  • Error handling and logging
  • Basic caching strategies
  • Background or asynchronous tasks
• Familiarity with environment-based configurations

Good to Have (Bonus Skills)

• Experience working on consumer-facing web or mobile products
• Exposure to AI/ML integrations or API-driven systems
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS / GCP)
• Familiarity with Docker and CI/CD pipelines
• Understanding of system scalability and performance tuning
