Job Description: QA Analyst/Tester
Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced QA Analyst/Tester to join our fast-growing team. This is a full-time contract position where you will play a critical role in ensuring we deliver bug-free, user-friendly, and reliable products to our customers. These products range from web-based planning applications to complex AI-driven tools that analyze customer data and provide actionable recommendations.
As the first dedicated QA professional on our team, you will be responsible for setting up our QA processes and systems from scratch. You’ll need to take a systematic and proactive approach to testing, validating requirements, and finding bugs early in the development lifecycle. Working closely with our developers, you will help establish and enforce standards to improve product quality, increase team velocity, and deliver an outstanding user experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish QA Systems: Design, implement, and manage QA systems and processes for our development team from the ground up.
- Automated and Manual Testing: Perform both automated and manual testing to ensure the functionality, performance, and reliability of our products.
- Testing Strategies: Develop and execute comprehensive testing strategies, including unit, regression, and end-to-end tests.
- Bug Prevention and Early Detection: Validate requirements during the planning phase, ensuring clarity and feasibility, and identify bugs early in the development process to minimize costly fixes later.
- Collaboration: Partner closely with the development team to establish, enforce, and maintain coding and quality standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously enhance QA processes, tools, and techniques to adapt to evolving product and team needs.
- Documentation: Create and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and test reports to track testing progress and results.
- Startup Adaptability: Proactively manage priorities and adjust to the fast-paced and evolving nature of a startup environment.
Key Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in QA testing, with proven expertise in both automated and manual testing.
- Technical Skills:
- Experience with unit and regression testing frameworks.
- Familiarity with bug-tracking tools (e.g., Jira) and test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright).
- Ability to design and execute test cases for web-based and AI-driven applications.
- Proactive Testing: Experience identifying bugs early in the development process and validating requirements to ensure product feasibility.
- Collaboration: Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with developers and other stakeholders.
- Systematic Approach: A structured mindset with attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Bonus Skills: Experience working in startups or small teams, familiarity with AI/ML applications, and knowledge of our tech stack (Python, React, Node.js, AWS, etc.).
