QA Engineer

Overview

Summary of the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented QA Engineer to join our development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software products through comprehensive testing strategies, test case development, and defect identification. You will work closely with development teams to maintain high standards of software quality throughout the development lifecycle.

What you will do:

• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for web applications
• Perform manual testing including functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing
• Identify, document, and track software defects using bug tracking systems
• Verify bug fixes and perform regression testing to ensure issues are resolved
• Work closely with developers, product managers, and designers to understand requirements and acceptance criteria
• Participate in sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospective meetings
• Provide clear and detailed bug reports with steps to reproduce, expected vs actual results
• Communicate testing progress and quality metrics to stakeholders
• Create and maintain test documentation including test plans and test cases
• Generate testing reports and quality metrics

What you bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 4-6 years of experience in software testing and quality assurance
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies
• Proficiency in test management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail)
• Good Understanding of API testing tools (Postman)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
