About the Position As a QA Engineer at Solifi, you will contribute to the design and development of automated testing solutions that ensure the quality and reliability of our products. You will work closely with Product Managers, Senior SDETs, Developers, and other team members to understand features, technical implementations, and user scenarios. You will use this knowledge to define effective test strategies, create and maintain automated tests, and support continuous integration and continuous testing practices across the team.
This SDET position focuses on building strong foundational testing and automation skills. You will be expected to grow your expertise in analyzing software systems, writing scalable automation, understanding system internals, and advocating for quality throughout the development lifecycle.
This role is ideal for candidates who love problem solving, learning new technologies, and collaborating closely with developers and testers to help build high-quality, modern web applications.
Role and Responsibilities
- Contribute to the creation and execution of test plans, test cases, and automation scripts for functional, integration, and regression testing.
- Develop and maintain Java-based test automation for modern web applications using industry-standard tools and frameworks.
- Partner with Senior SDETs and developers to understand feature designs, workflows, and system behavior, ensuring test coverage for core scenarios.
- Participate in improving QA processes, methodologies, and best practices across the product team.
- Help analyze and troubleshoot defects by reviewing logs, debugging failures, and collaborating with developers to identify root causes.
- Support testing of RESTful APIs, web UI, and backend services.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipeline improvements to enhance automation efficiency and stability.
- Provide clear and proactive communication regarding testing status, risks, and issues.
- Continuously learn and grow your skills in automation, quality strategy, debugging, system analysis, and testing tools.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 1–3 years of experience in software testing, quality engineering, or test automation.
- Familiarity with building automation solutions in Java.
- Understanding of software testing fundamentals, including test design methods and validation techniques.
- Experience testing modern web-based applications.
- Basic knowledge of databases and SQL.
- Exposure to testing RESTful APIs.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging abilities.
- Solid communication skills and willingness to collaborate across engineering teams. ________________________________________ Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Java-based test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, REST Assured).
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automation within tools such as GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
- Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Experience with performance, load, or reliability testing tools.
- Curiosity and initiative to improve testing processes or automation approaches.
- Experience contributing to internal test utilities, frameworks, or tools.
