Role Overview:
As an QA engineer, you will play a pivotal role in our application testing process. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the reliability, performance of our SaaS solution, and give the product & engineering team release confidence.
You will collaborate closely with our engineering, scanner & product teams to create and execute comprehensive test plans. Your expertise in test automation, API validation, manual testing will be vital in helping our engineering team maintain the high standards that our customers rely on.
This is a hybrid role in Bangalore.
At Astra you will be working on:
- Manual Testing: Perform thorough manual testing to supplement automated testing efforts and ensure a comprehensive test coverage.
- Test Automation: Design, develop, and implement automated test suites to cover functional, integration, and end-to-end testing for our Symfony APIs, Next.js dashboard, and FastAPI scanner.
- API Testing: Perform thorough testing of our APIs to validate their functionality, performance, and security standards.
- Test Planning and Execution: Create detailed test plans and execute test cases to validate new/existing features, enhancements, and bug fixes for ensuring comprehensive coverage of all product features.
- Bug Tracking and Reporting: Identify, log, and track issues using appropriate bug tracking tools, and collaborate with developers to facilitate timely resolution.
- Test Environment Management: Set up and maintain testing environments to facilitate efficient and accurate testing.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest testing tools, methodologies, and industry trends, and actively propose improvements to enhance the testing process.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with development, DevOps, and Product teams to ensure a smooth software development lifecycle.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (MCA/BTech)
- Proven experience as an QA engineer roles with a minimum of 1 year of experience.
- Solid understanding of test automation and proficiency in using test automation frameworks and tools - Playwright framework
- Experience in testing web applications, RESTful APIs, and front-end applications.
- Candidate should have experience in integrating automated tests in CI/CD pipelines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Ideal candidate should be a self-starter, able to handle ambiguity and establish new processes independently.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Comfortable travelling to Bangalore in a co-working hybrid setup.
Good to have:
- Familiarity with testing REST APIs and React applications is a plus.
