JOB TITLE:
Senior Test Engineer – Quality Assurance
As a product development integrating QA into our scrum process was a decision made early on. Now as we further mature the QA team we are looking for a QA Engineer who will hold up the manual testing pillar. You will be responsible for preparing and executing functional and regression testing to ensure product quality across releases. This role requires close collaboration with product management and development teams within an Agile/Scrum environment, including active participation in sprint ceremonies. The role also includes an option to convert into an automation engineer role in the QA team if you are so inclined and come with an interest to learn programming.
Key Responsibilities Test Design & Execution
Develop, maintain, and execute functional and regression test cases. Identify, document, and track software defects through the defect lifecycle. Perform exploratory testing to identify edge cases and usability issues.
Collaboration & Communication Work closely with product managers to understand requirements and acceptance criteria. Collaborate with developers to ensure issues are reproducible and resolved.
Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and sprint reviews.
Quality Ownership Validate product features before release to ensure they meet quality standards. Provide clear and actionable feedback on product quality and test coverage. Support regression testing during release cycles and provide go/no-go input.
Drive Innovation and governance Implement continuous improvement for QA process, targeted at expanding team capability. Use continuous feedback from various stakeholder across functions to drive improvement ideas. Create custom metrics to communicate test coverage, defect density, defect aging etc.
EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
3–6 years of experience in manual software testing in Agile/Scrum environments. Strong understanding of functional testing, regression testing, and defect lifecycle management.
Familiarity with test case management tools (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr, QMetry, or similar).
Experience with issue tracking systems (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps). Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Expertise at core java skills, and general interest in programming (Nice to have).
Basic knowledge of SQL for data validation (Nice to have).
Exposure to automation testing concepts or willingness to learn (Nice to have). Experience in API testing using tools like Postman (Nice to have).
Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and their impact on testing (Nice to have).
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹70,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
