US Solar Experience mandatory
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Design and Execution: Complete 8 Quality Control (QC) checks and 16 Quality Assurance (QA) tasks per project cycle for roof mount and ground mount systems, ensuring 100% quality standards and efficiency in design and execution.
- Site Assessment: Review and develop site assessment data, including shading, structural, and electrical analysis, to inform optimized system designs.
- Drawing Sets: Create, review, and modify detailed drawing sets using AutoCAD and custom software tools, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
- Engineering Calculations and BOM: Perform engineering calculations and generate accurate Bills of Materials (BOM) for all projects.
- Code Compliance: Research, document, and adhere to local and national code requirements (e.g., NEC, IBC, and local AHJ standards) for all project jurisdictions.
- PV Expertise: Maintain in-depth knowledge of photovoltaic equipment components (e.g., modules, inverters, racking systems) and provide technical support to internal teams and clients as needed.
- Project Management: Manage project workflows to meet daily and weekly deliverables as outlined by the direct supervisor, ensuring timely completion of all tasks.
- Communication: Maintain prompt responsiveness to emails and phone calls, efficiently multitasking to meet tight deadlines.
- Mentorship: Mentor team members, facilitate knowledge transfer, and foster a collaborative environment within the department.
- Error Tracking: Maintain an error sheet to track and resolve design discrepancies, ensuring continuous improvement in design accuracy.
- Training and Development: Complete mandatory industry-standard courses (e.g., IronRidge, Unirac) and stay updated on product certifications.
- Design Standards: Continuously update design standards and templates to reflect industry best practices and technological advancements.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of U.S.-based solar design experience, with a focus on roof mount and ground mount PV systems.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and custom solar design software (e.g., Aurora, Helioscope, or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of PV system components, including modules, inverters, racking systems (e.g., IronRidge, Unirac), and balance of systems (BOS).
- Familiarity with electrical and structural analysis for solar installations.
- Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of U.S. solar codes and standards, including NEC, IBC, and local AHJ requirements.
- Soft Skills:
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to maintaining 100% quality standards.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and mentoring colleagues.
- Certifications: Completion of industry-standard certifications (e.g., IronRidge, Unirac) is a plus; willingness to complete mandatory courses required.
- Preferred: NABCEP certification or equivalent solar industry credentials.
