Role Description
- The Tooling & Automation team delivers end user applications and digital services to Deutsche Bank staff. The team is focused on delivering a modern web & mobile experience specifically built around users’ personas, presenting all apps & services in a clean, consistent and coherent package. This ensures an optimum client experience on our digital estate.
- This QA test engineer role will be primarily focussed on assuring the quality of bespoke software solutions across process automation and infrastructure monitoring projects. The test engineer will be involved in performing automated and manual tests to ensure that software created by developers is fit for purpose. They will work with project teams to ensure that acceptance criteria of user stories are defined with a clear definition of done. The engineer will also be responsible for the overall test strategy and define test plans used for production release sign-off to ensure compliance with the global SDLC process
- The successful candidate will have a clear focus on creating and delivering automated and manual testing as appropriate whether working independently or as part of a team whilst delivering in a high-pressure environment. It is important for the candidate to have enthusiasm, commitment and a positive attitude as well as being a strong team player. It is also essential for the candidate to have good interpersonal skills and the ability to discuss, analyse and accurately document technical solutions and analyse issues.

- Working with development teams to gain an understanding of project requirements and system design.
- Defining test strategies and test approaches.
- Investigate opportunities for automated test systems, including evaluation of industry standard test products.
- Ensure release candidate applications meet global compliance standards.
- Manage the testing process and escalate issues as appropriate.
- Work with the service operations support team to help pin-point production problems before developers are involved.
- Help with the change request process and post-deployment verification.
- Work closely with the domain architect to ensure solutions are delivered in a robust, sustainable way in accordance with technology strategy
- Ensure application releases have sufficient release documentation for handover to support.
Mandatory:
- Experience with an Agile development team (SCRUM and Kanban preferred).
- Experience with a test management tool, such as HP ALM
- Experience testing applications on Windows platforms (server and desktop).
- Familiarity with testing web pages on Chrome, Safari and Edge.
- Ability to troubleshoot application faults via log files for root cause analysis.
- A basic understanding of network architecture for troubleshooting distributed applications.
- Beneficial:
- Familiar with SQL Server Management studio for database access.
- A good understanding of monitoring and alerting systems to help detect production faults.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow, Jama, JIRA and Confluence.
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
