As a valued member of our team at Deciphex, you will play a pivotal role in transforming raw data into valuable insights while managing and orchestrating data collection across both Clinical and PreClinical Research Teams. Working in a fast-paced environment with a collaborative team, you will leverage your existing skills in data management and analytics to help advance our AI and digital pathology solutions.
Your responsibilities will include working closely with the manager and team members to procure, transfer, prepare, maintain, collate, analyze, and manipulate various large datasets. You will interact directly with data repositories to extract continuous statistical insights and work with AI Engineers to optimize classifier development workflow. Your contribution will directly impact our ability to advance AI-driven solutions in digital pathology.

- This is a work from home role based in Ireland.
- You will be required to travel to our Dublin office from time to time for team meetings.
- We are based in DCU Alpha, Innovation Campus, 11 Old Finglas Road, Glasnevin, Co. Dublin, D11 KXN4.

Key Responsibilities
- Data collection, standardization, and curation across both Clinical and PreClinical (and any additionally created) Research Teams
- Monitoring, maintaining, managing, annotating, and analyzing large datasets, including image data, ensuring their quality and consistency
- Technology transfer of datasets from different sites
- Solving workflow-related problems using data-driven techniques
- Conducting advanced data collection and statistical analysis, employing machine learning techniques and methodologies
- Working with large image and other data sets to standardize data profiles and create statistically meaningful validation sets
- Collaborating with AI engineers to optimize model architectures, classifier development, and validation workflows
- Design of data modeling processes to create algorithms and predictive models
- Development and optimization of validation routines and data processing pipeline elements
- Reporting and documenting procedures and results
- Writing SOPs and assisting in the development and implementation of policies
- Planning data usage in line with requirements from regulatory bodies
- Review of current literature/competitor analyses and presentation of findings
- Collaboration with software development, sales, and other cross-functional teams to support organizational goals
- A Bachelor's Degree in a life-sciences or analytical field (e.g., biology, microbiology, toxicology, biochemistry, pharmacology, computer science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, or data science)
- Understanding of the basic principles of pathology and digital pathology
- Proficient knowledge of biological processes/immunology
- Experience with data visualization software (e.g., Graphpad, Tableau, Power BI)
- Ability to perform descriptive and inferential statistics, including regression analyses and sample size calculations
- Experience in verifying, documenting, and cleaning large data files
- Ability to import/export data into or from various formats into standard statistical software
- Proficiency with basic computer programming skills, including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and at least one statistical programming language (e.g., Python, SQL)
- Strong scientific literacy skills and ability to present findings
- Strong proven technical writing capacity
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills
- Ability to present scientific data to various audiences
- Ability to work both independently and with a team, as well as the ability to manage up
- A heightened sense of urgency and focus on immediate impact
- Must be coachable and have a passion for research and delivering results under tough conditions
- Possess sound communication skills to address issues quickly & comprehensively
- Must be self-motivated with a willingness to learn and take ownership
- Must be effective at time management and personal organization/planning
- Experience with image processing techniques is desirable
- Understanding of machine learning models and ability to qualify model performance is a plus
