Job Title: Data Migration Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data Migration Engineer to lead and execute complex data migration projects from legacy systems to our Snowflake data warehouse within the Azure ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement data migration strategies from legacy systems to Snowflake
• Conduct data discovery, profiling, and mapping of source systems
• Develop ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Azure Synapse
• Configure and optimize Snowflake warehouses, databases, and schemas
• Implement data validation frameworks and automated testing procedures
• Leverage Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 for data staging and processing
• Establish data quality checks and validation rules throughout migration process
• Monitor and optimize performance for both Azure services and Snowflake
• Create technical documentation for migration processes and procedures
  
  

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills

• 5+ years of experience in data migration and ETL/ELT development
• Expert-level proficiency with Snowflake architecture and best practices
• Strong experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2
• Advanced SQL skills with complex query optimization experience
• Proficiency in Python or PowerShell scripting
• Experience with data modeling and schema design
• Knowledge of data integration patterns and API development
  
  

Platform Experience

• Azure certification (AZ-104, DP-203, or equivalent) preferred
• Snowflake certification (SnowPro Core or Advanced) preferred
• Experience with data profiling and data quality tools
• Understanding of data governance and compliance requirements
• Knowledge of change data capture (CDC) and real-time data streaming
  
  

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Project management experience with Agile methodologies
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple concurrent projects
