Job Title: Cloud Operations Engineer L2+
Role Summary
The Cloud Ops Engineer is responsible for intermediate administration, support, monitoring, and troubleshooting of cloud infrastructure across major platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.). This is a hands-on role, bridging L1 support and senior (L3) engineering, focused on ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability of cloud environments.

Job Title: Cloud Operations Engineer L2+
Role Summary
The Cloud Ops Engineer is responsible for intermediate administration, support, monitoring, and troubleshooting of cloud infrastructure across major platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.). This is a hands-on role, bridging L1 support and senior (L3) engineering, focused on ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability of cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy and configure cloud services and solutions across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Monitor cloud infrastructure for health and performance; use monitoring tools for metrics and alerts.
- Provide L2 support for incidents and escalate complex issues to L3 as needed.
- Perform troubleshooting and resolution of cloud, server, networking, and platform issues.
- Conduct cloud environment maintenance: patching, updates, upgrades, and backup administration.
- Automate routine tasks using scripts (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash) and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Uphold security compliance: administer access controls, audit logs, firewall configurations, and conduct vulnerability assessments.
- Maintain and update technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with L1 support, developers, architects, and other IT stakeholders to address requirements and incidents.
- Participate in continuous improvement of processes, tools, and cloud architectures.
- On-call support and flexibility to work outside regular business hours as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science / IT /Electronics /Electrical, or related fields.
- 5+ years of total IT experience with at least 1-2 years in cloud infrastructure management (L2 or above).
- Solid practical experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP administration.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of Linux and/or Windows server administration.
- Administering FS Logix User Profile Management Azure AVD Environment.
- Administering OMS Patching on Prem and Azure VM’s by using automation account and workspace log analytics.
- Administering Azure AD Domain services creating users, security groups, creating OU Structures and managing group policies, Sync on Prem AD users to Azure AD by (AD connect tool)
- Design, architect, and lead the implementation of Cloud solutions using Microsoft Azure Services.
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with monitoring and alerting solutions (e.g. CloudWatch, Azure Monitor).
- Fundamental networking knowledge (VPCs, load balancers, DNS, VPNs).
- Good troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and documentation skills.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and multitasking abilities.
- Relevant certifications preferred: AWS SysOps Associate, Azure Administrator, or equivalent
- Knowledge of backup solutions (Commvault, NetBackup, etc.).
- Familiarity with automation/configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
- Awareness of ITIL/change management processes.
- Exposure to hybrid (on-prem/cloud) architectures.
- Managing Cloud App gateway configuration
- Troubleshooting of network issues
- Monitoring usage of cloud network
- Implementing effective security strategies on cloud networks
- VPC and subnet designing with flow of network
- Managing Point to site configuration and direct connect management.
- Managing and designing VPN and site to site configuration
- Managing Cloud App gateway configuration
- Create Cloud cost optimization framework and Governance mechanism.
- Establish strong cost management practice in the Public Cloud for AWS and Azure.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization; Analyze AWS / Azure financial reports and identify opportunities for optimization.
