Overview
This role is critical to ensuring the project’s continued success and avoiding potential risks on requirement gaps, requirements elicitation and impact analysis across modules to deliver timely outcomes for the business. Having a Functional Data Analyst is not just a matter of enhancing the team skill sets, but a necessity to avoid risks and ensure the project’s success.
- Stakeholder Management: Foster relationships between Business and IT teams to ensure smooth operations and reporting. and Work with teams to assess the impact of business requirements changes and facilitate smooth implementation by coordinating across US/India team members, both biz and tech teams. Support the management of change requests throughout the project lifecycle.
- Bridge between Business and Technical Teams: One of the key challenges in DOST is maintaining a seamless communication channel between business stakeholders and the technical team. The BA will act as a bridge, translating business requirements into actionable tasks for the development team, ensuring clarity and reducing the risk of misinterpretation.
- Continuous Process Improvement: The project involves complex data processing workflows, which require ongoing refinement. A dedicated BA will regularly analyze business processes and suggest improvements that can enhance efficiency, ensuring the project delivers optimal results within the defined timelines.
- Critical to Successful Requirements Management: The BA will ensure that business needs are accurately captured and clearly communicated to the technical teams. Without a BA, there is a higher risk of misalignment between the business and IT, which could lead to costly delays, scope creep, and misinterpretation of requirements.
- Vital for Reporting & Analytics Accuracy: The DOST project heavily relies on timely and accurate data analytics and reporting. The BA will ensure that data is validated, appropriate DQ controls are identified and implemented, workflows are optimized, and reporting requirements on KPIs, slice/dice, roll-up/drill-downs are met in a way that aligns with business objectives.
- Filling Gaps in Change Management: As the project evolves, new business requirements and changes will inevitably arise. The BA will take ownership of managing these changes, ensuring that they are prioritized with the business and implemented in phases and/or as appropriate, without causing project delays or budget overruns. This will safeguard the project from unnecessary scope expansions or misaligned priorities.
