About You

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 4-7 years of experience as a SQL Database Administrator, with a focus on Azure SQL.
• Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Database Administrator Associate) preferred.
• Proficiency in T-SQL and PowerShell scripting for automation.
• Strong understanding of database design and architecture.
• Experience with Azure services such as Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and Azure SQL Data Warehouse.
• Knowledge of high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions in Azure.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Azure certification(s) (e.g., AZ-900, AZ-104) a plus.
  
  

What You ‘ll Do

• Database Migration Expertise: Demonstrate proficiency in planning, executing, and overseeing database migrations from various platforms (e.g., on-premises, other cloud providers, or different Azure regions) to Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instance. Evaluate existing databases and applications to determine migration strategies, including lift-and-shift, rehosting, or refactoring, as appropriate.
• Data Migration Tools: Utilize Azure Database Migration Service and other relevant tools to facilitate data migration processes. Ensure data integrity and minimize downtime during migrations.
• Compatibility and Performance: Assess compatibility of existing databases with Azure services and make necessary modifications to enhance performance and cost-efficiency. Collaborate with application developers to optimize queries and code for Azure SQL databases.
• Post-Migration Validation: Execute post-migration validation to confirm data integrity, application functionality, and overall performance in the Azure environment. Address any issues that arise during or after the migration process.
• Documentation and Best Practices: Create comprehensive documentation of migration strategies, procedures, and best practices. Share insights and lessons learned with the team to continuously improve migration processes.
