Organization Objective/Purpose:
- This position in the Engineering team under the DX organization. We drive the first mile of the customer experience through personalization of offers and content. We are currently on the lookout for a smart, highly driven software engineer.
- You will be part of a team that is focused on building solutions, pipelines using the latest software engineering design principles and tech stacks. You will also be expected to Identify, design, and implement improvements including re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, optimizing data delivery and automate continuous integration and deployment processes/pipelines.
- The incumbent is also expected to partner with various collaborators, bring scientific rigor to design and develop high quality software.
- She / He also must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be comfortable working in an ambitious, ‘startup’ environment within a larger company.
Responsibilities
- Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and AWS ‘big data’ technologies.
- Develop end-to-end (Data/Dev) pipelines based on in-depth understanding of cloud platforms, and business problems to ensure solutions are delivered efficiently and sustainably.
- Collaborate with other members of the team to ensure high quality work
- Learning and implementing the latest design patterns in software engineering
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science with 5+ years of similar experience
Data Management
- Design, develop, and maintain PL/SQL packages, procedures, triggers, and functions.
- Optimize SQL queries for performance and scalability.
- Work with application developers and data engineers to support backend data requirements.
- Conduct impact analysis, data analysis, and write data transformation scripts.
- Maintain and enhance existing database systems and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Support data migration, integration, and ETL processes as needed.
- Ensure alignment to standard methodologies in code versioning, documentation, and security.
- Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and deployment activities.
Software Development
- Strong hands-on experience with PL/SQL and Oracle Database (11g/12c/19c).
- Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, views, and stored procedures.
- Knowledge of performance tuning and query optimization.
- Experience in database design, data modeling, and schema changes.
- Familiarity with Unix/Linux scripting and basic shell commands.
- Understanding of version control tools like Git.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good to have ability to write code in programming languages such as Python, PySpark and shell script on Linux
- Familiarity with software development methodology such as Agile/Scrum
- Love to learn new technologies, keep abreast of the latest technologies within the cloud architecture, and drive your organization to adapt to emerging standard processes
Architecture and Infrastructure
- Architectural design experience on AWS
- Good to have knowledge on AWS EC2, S3, EMR/Glue, Lambda, Data Pipeline, CloudFormation, Redshift etc.
- Good to have experience on Snowflake
- Good knowledge of working in UNIX/LINUX systems
