We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer with a strong foundation in Java (Spring Boot) and hands-on experience in DevOps practices and tools. This is a hybrid role requiring both Java development capabilities and modern DevOps expertise. The ideal candidate will be a Java engineer who has evolved into a DevOps role, capable of leading automation, infrastructure-as-code, and CI/CD initiatives while mentoring junior engineers.

Job Overview
We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer with a strong foundation in Java (Spring Boot) and hands-on experience in DevOps practices and tools. This is a hybrid role requiring both Java development capabilities and modern DevOps expertise. The ideal candidate will be a Java engineer who has evolved into a DevOps role, capable of leading automation, infrastructure-as-code, and CI/CD initiatives while mentoring junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab Pipelines, and Azure DevOps.
- Manage containerization and orchestration platforms including Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
- Work extensively with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi to provision and manage cloud infrastructure.
- Ensure high system reliability and availability in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Contribute to Java/Spring Boot-based application components where needed.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to infrastructure and deployments.
- Drive DevOps best practices across teams and mentor junior DevOps and software engineers.
- Collaborate with global stakeholders and operate effectively in US time zone hours.
- 5+ years of professional DevOps experience
- 3+ years of experience with CI/CD tools : Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab Pipelines
- 3+ years working with containers and orchestration : Docker, Kubernetes, Helm
- Strong proficiency with at least one cloud provider : AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Hands-on experience with Terraform or Pulumi
- Excellent Linux command-line skills
- Proficiency in scripting or programming languages : Bash, PowerShell, Python, or TypeScript
- Strong background in Java and Spring Boot - must have development experience
- Proven ability to mentor junior team members and guide best practices
- Exposure to monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK
- Experience with service mesh, security, or performance tuning in cloud environments
- Understanding of Agile methodologies and DevOps culture
