Senior DevOps Engineer - linux, unix, automation, docker, kubernetes

Primary Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain vendor software products on Unix/Linux systems
• Monitor system performance and ensure system availability and reliability
• Implement and manage monitoring tools to ensure system health and performance
• Develop and maintain scripts to automate system tasks
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations and procedures
• Provide technical support and guidance to users and other administrators
• Be able to monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal performance
• Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
• 9+ years of experience: Proficiency in managing Unix/Linux operating systems, including installation, configuration, and patching
• 9+ years of experience: Strong skills in a scripting language such as Python and Shell. Experience with other programming languages like C, Java or Perl can be beneficial
• 9+ years of experience: Knowledge of experience of supporting vendor applications (nice to have on BigFix, TWS Agent Support, IBM Tivoli Monitoring or Netcool Suite)
• Experience with updating vendor certificates
• Knowledge of security best practices and tools to ensure system integrity and data protection
• Familiarity with configuration management tools
• Understanding of networking protocols and services (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, NTP, SSL, SSH)
• Proven solid analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Proven excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members and other stakeholders
• Proven high attention to detail to ensure system reliability and security
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with other IT professionals

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications such as Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), CompTIA Linux+, or similar
• Working knowledge on Cloud technologies
• Knowledge for BigFix Relevance language,
• Knowledge using Chef
