Role Description

DevOps Engineer – Role Overview

We are seeking a hands-on DevOps Engineer to help build, manage, support, and

enhance our cloud-based platform capabilities—primarily in AWS or Azure or GCP,

with scope to extend to other cloud services in the future. This role combines deep

technical skills with a consultative, collaborative mindset to drive best practices in

automation, continuous delivery, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, manage, and continuously improve platform capabilities with a focus on
  
  

automation, collaboration, and continuous delivery within AWS and future

cloud services.

• Work closely with delivery teams and on-site stakeholders to ensure best
  
  

practices are followed and automation is implemented wherever feasible.

• Actively pair program with developers and team members to share knowledge
  
  

and enhance team maturity around operability.

• Own and manage the platform backlog, including grooming, planning, and full
  
  

automation of related tasks.

• Lead the implementation and maintenance of shared IaaS, PaaS, and tooling
  
  

capabilities across teams.

• Develop, maintain, and standardize CI/CD pipelines and release processes,
  
  

ensuring consistent paths to production.

• Define and enforce common standards and engineering practices across the
  
  

platform.

• Collaborate with Product Owners and Scrum Masters to shape and
  
  

communicate a unified platform vision, aligned with client infrastructure

strategies and technology choices (including vendors and open source).

Required Skills & Experience

• 4+ years of experience in DevOps roles, with a strong background in Continuous
  
  

Delivery practices.

• Experience working in cross-functional teams, including pairing and close
  
  

collaboration with developers.

• Strong scripting/coding experience in languages such as PowerShell, Python,
  
  

Shell, or Bash.

• Expertise in build and release engineering, including CI tools like GitLab
  
  

Runners and Jenkins.

• Proficiency in Linux (Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS) and Windows operating
  
  

systems.

• Solid knowledge of cloud platforms—especially AWS, and ideally Azure or
  
  

Google Cloud.

• Hands-on experience with infrastructure provisioning tools such as Terraform,
  
  

Kubernetes, and CloudFormation.

• Strong automation background, including unit testing and configuration
  
  

management tools like Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or Salt.

• Proven ability to design and maintain robust build, deployment, and
  
  

configuration management systems for complex, multi-tier applications.

• Understanding of telemetry best practices including monitoring, ing,
  
  

graphing, and anomaly detection.

• Good understanding of networking concepts and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, IPSec,
  
  

HTTP, FTP, DHCP, DNS), and experience with tools/devices such as Palo Alto,

Cumulus, and F5.

• Experience operating and supporting production systems, including close
  
  

collaboration with security teams in a cloud or DevOps environment.
