Job Description

The Senior DevOps Engineer (Contract – Remote) plays a crucial role in driving the efficiency and robustness of our software development lifecycle. Operating entirely remotely, this position requires you to seamlessly integrate cutting-edge DevOps practices into our existing frameworks. You will collaborate closely with software developers, system operators, and other IT staff members to manage code releases and improve the planning and execution of our automated processes. Your expertise in cloud services, containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation will help streamline our operations and ensure high-quality software delivery. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills, advanced technical knowledge, and a demonstrated ability to work independently while maintaining effective communication with remote teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable systems on cloud platforms tailored to company needs.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines to enhance automation and integrate new technologies.
• Monitor and maintain integrations between toolsets for continuous operation efficiency.
• Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) techniques.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members and other stakeholders.
• Identify and troubleshoot system errors and inconsistencies to prevent future occurrences.
• Implement robust security measures to protect systems from breaches and vulnerabilities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align DevOps processes with organizational goals.
• Analyse system requirements and delegate development tasks effectively within teams.
• Prepare comprehensive documentation to support system audits and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct regular system updates and maintenance to ensure efficiency and reliability.
• Participate in the evaluation and selection of new technologies to be adopted by teams.
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field preferred.
• Proven track record of at least 5 years in a Senior DevOps role.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Expertise in containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes is essential.
• Strong proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Comprehensive understanding of CI/CD tools, including Jenkins and GitLab CICD.
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and capacity to work under minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills, particularly in coordinating across distributed teams.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and facilitate knowledge sharing among peers.
