We are seeking an experienced and driven Software Developer who thrives at the intersection of Java development and cloud-native DevOps practices. In this role, you will play a critical part in building and maintaining Java-based microservices designed to simplify application management, streamline the integration of new features, and enhance operational efficiency. Additionally, you will be deeply involved in deployment automation, infrastructure planning and management, and providing operational support for a large enterprise-class application deployed across Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with product teams to define and implement onboarding, deployment, and monitoring requirements for new services, features, and integrations.
- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based microservices that support application management, configuration, and DevOps automation within a robust, cloud-native platform.
- Partner with infrastructure and application management teams to streamline deployment pipelines, manage containerized workloads, and optimize application performance in Oracle Cloud.
- Plan and coordinate phased and multi-realm deployments, ensuring tasks are clearly assigned, managed, and successfully executed.
- Develop and maintain Unix/Linux shell scripts to automate operational tasks and streamline deployment processes.
- Proactively monitor, manage, and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure components utilizing advanced logging and monitoring frameworks.
- Assist in Kubernetes configuration, management, and deployment strategies.
- Provide support and guidance to internal product teams, ensuring consistent application environment stability and performance.
- Uphold high standards for application reliability, security, and performance in production cloud environments.
- 3–5 years of hands-on Java development experience.
- Experience designing web-based applications using front-end frameworks and RESTful microservices.
- Experience leveraging GenAI and Agents in workflows to increase productivity
- Experience working with containerized application environments such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Understanding of basic networking concepts: TCP/IP, SSL/TLS, VPN, Load Balancing, DNS, routing, and SSH.
- Working knowledge of Unix/Linux systems and proficiency in shell scripting.
- Experience with source code management tools such as Git, Bitbucket, or GitHub.
- Flexibility to occasionally work alternative schedules, including after-hours or weekend shifts, to support scheduled product releases/upgrades.
- Strong knowledge of cloud computing principles (compute, storage, networking, database services)
- Previous experience using popular cloud providers (Oracle Cloud, AWS, etc.)
- Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting tools like Prometheus, Grafana, cURL, and Wireshark.
- Understanding of cloud cost optimization techniques and management tools.
- Knowledge of modern authentication methods (OAuth, JWT) and security best practices in distributed systems.
- Experience with Oracle RDBMS and SQL.
