Senior Engineer - Data Scientist

What You’ll Do

Eaton Corporation’s Center for Intelligent Power has an opening for a Senior Data Scientist, who is passionate about his or her craft, and poses innate entrepreneurial spirit to explore the uncharted in the cutting edge of science and technology. The Data Scientist will be experienced in Machine Learning, Deep Learning and AI based algorithm development to answer challenging business questions. In addition to this Data Scientist will also be involved in successful integration of these algorithms in edge or cloud systems using CI/CD and software release process.This work will help businesses across the enterprise solve critical business problems, uncover new business opportunities, and turn their large volumes of data into valuable, actionable insights.

• Carry out data analytics and optimization using machine learning & deep learning and and participate in strategic planning for data analytics.
• Integrate data & perform ad-hoc analysis and prototype ideas, research and develop statistical models, and run experiments
• Design data-driven solutions to solve critical business problems, understand company needs, and contribute innovative ideas to enhance or develop products using new or existing data streams.
• Present and promote results to both internal stakeholders and external clients and partners
• Use suitable databases and project designs to boost joint development efforts
• Improve and support existing data science products and Develop custom data models and algorithms
• Build tools and processes to monitor and analyze performance and data accuracy, and leveraging predictive modeling to optimize targeting, revenue generation, customer experiences, and more.
• Demonstrate exceptional impact in delivering projects in terms of architecture, technical deliverables, and project delivery throughout the project lifecycle.
• The candidate is expected to be conversant with Agile methodologies and tools and have a track record of delivering products in a production environment
• Work with a team of experts in deep learning, machine learning, distributed systems, program management, and product teams, and work on all aspects of design, development and delivery of deep learning enabled end-to-end pipelines and solutions.
• Lead the development of technical solutions and implement architectures for project and products across data engineering and data science teams
• Evaluate business requirements to determine potential solutions
• Recommend and set up appropriate performance monitoring solutions; author and implement the solutions
  
  
  

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or Ph.D. pusuing in computer science, Data Science, software engineering, digital signal processing, Electrical, Electronics, Aerospace or related field
• 3-7 years of progressive experience in delivering technology solutions in a production environment
• 3-7 years working with customers (internal and external) on developing requirements and working to deliver end-to-end solution
• Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent Engineering field with strong knowledge in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, AI, Statistics, and Data Mining
  
  
  

Skills

• Experience in Machine Learning, Deep Learning (CNN,RNN, ..), Reinforcement Learning, Optimization Techniques, Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, Recommendation AI Systems.
• Experience in Tensor Flow, Scikit, Keras, Spark ML
• Strong programming skills in Python, R, Matlab,PySpark, SparkR, Scala along with a good understanding of the Linux platform
• Strong knowledge on Databricks
• Experience in at least one cloud provider (AWS, Azure, Google)
• Excellent communication (verbal, presentation, documentation) skills, working with teams that are geographically dispersed, to produce solutions that satisfy functional and non-functional requirements and the ability to effectively explain technical concepts
• Ability to write code that is accessible, secure, and optimized for performance, with the capability to output to different types of consumers and systems.
• Solid understanding of Java and/or Python and associated IDE’s (Eclipse, IntelliJ, etc.)
• Extensive experience with Agile development methodologies and concepts
• Strong problem solving and software debugging skills
• Good judgment, time management, and decision-making skills

• Experience in Design Thinking or human-centered methods to identify and creatively solve customer needs, through a holistic understanding of customer’s problem area
• Advanced degree and/or specialization in related descipline (e.g. machine learning)
