Role and Responsibilities:
The Information Security Analyst will be responsible for safeguarding MavVal’s computer networks and systems. This includes planning and implementing security measures, monitoring for breaches, and responding to incidents. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying vulnerabilities and ensuring compliance with security standards.
Responsibilities:
As a Senior Information Security Analyst, you will:
Develop and implement security policies and procedures.
Monitor networks for security breaches and investigate incidents.
Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments.
Install and maintain security software, such as firewalls and encryption programs.
Analyze security breaches to determine their root cause and recommend solutions.
Collaborate with IT teams to design secure systems and networks.
Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends and threats.
Train staff on security protocols and best practices.
Lead the discussions with the business on new implementation requirements, assess security requirements, and answer security questions as appropriate.
Identify user requirements on computer data access needs, identify security threats and violations, and identify and recommend needed programming or process changes.
Involved in evaluating vendor risk, examining vendor contracts or terms of service, helping different teams around the organization understand third-party risk and data privacy issues, and more.
Develops and implements plans to safeguard digital data from accidental or unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure; adheres to emergency data processing needs.
Reviews violations of security procedures; provides training to ensure violations do not recur.
Enhance the risk management framework. Performs risk assessments, audits, and tests to ensure the proper functioning of data processing activities and security measures.
Determines when to update virus protection systems by monitoring current reports of computer viruses; facilitates or performs needed updates.
Experience in business continuity programs and drills
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
8+ years of experience in computer systems with some specialization in computer security is highly preferred.
Proven experience in cybersecurity or information security roles.
Knowledge of security frameworks and standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
Proficiency in security tools and technologies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or CEH.
Experience with incident response and forensic analysis.
Familiarity with cloud security and emerging technologies
