Senior Java Developer

Overview

UST is seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to build end-to-end business solutions for leading financial services organizations.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in both frontend and backend development, microservices architecture, and cloud technologies (GCP/AWS). This role requires excellent communication skills, strong technical leadership, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and onsite teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with Product Owners to understand business requirements, lead requirement-gathering sessions, and review solution designs.
• Own and manage sprint backlog items, ensuring timely delivery of planned features.
• Design, develop, prototype, and troubleshoot applications across UI and service layers.
• Conduct technical design reviews and perform peer code reviews to ensure scalability, reusability, and adherence to best practices.
• Develop and maintain REST/SOAP APIs and microservices-based applications.
• Participate in architecture and design discussions focused on user experience, performance, and scalability.
• Support QA teams with test plan reviews, root cause analysis, and defect resolution.
• Perform client demonstrations of developed features and enhancements.
• Provide overlap support with onsite/customer teams until 9:00 PM IST as required.
  
  

• 6+ years of hands-on experience in Java/JEE development.
• Strong experience in multi-tier and microservices architecture.
• Expertise in:

• Hibernate
• SQL
• Tomcat and WebSphere Application Servers
• SONAR
• Jenkins
• AJAX
• Strong understanding of API development and web service models.
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs with Swagger and JSON payloads.
• Strong experience in responsive design and cross-browser web applications.
• Experience with UML, application architecture, and design patterns.
• Hands-on experience with unit testing frameworks such as JUnit.
• Exposure to Agile and Scaled Agile methodologies.
• Experience working with tools such as Bitbucket, Jira, and Confluence.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or AWS.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
