- Work with the Network Design team to understand and identify potential risk during high-level and low-level design review.
- Be part of a dynamic team to work on your own initiative to manage and deliver a continuous workload with all Sky policies adhered to.
- Solve network related problems assigned to the team as well as coordinating with others outside your team when required; Analyse issues afterwards to correct the method of procedure to mitigate any future occurrence.
- Responsible for provisioning, implementation, and commissioning of new services.
- A point of contact for various engineers in the tribe. Explain information in a simplified manner to allow other less technically minded people the ability to understand the objectives during Change review boards.
- Be a role model and mentor junior members of the team to reach a high technical standard and to provide them with the confidence to be able work on their own initiative.
Must have:
- An expertise in a variety of hardware platforms; Cisco, Alcatel/Nokia.
- An understanding of distributed architecture used today to build a very fast-moving environment.
- Working experience with Cisco IOS or IOS-XR (Cisco NCS5K, ASR9K), and Alcatel/Nokia TiMOS (BNG, 7750 SR series).
- Work experience with Routing/Switching; Segment routing, MAP-T, IP/MPLS, LDP, ISIS, BGP, EVPN, ACL’s, QoS, IPoE, PPPoE, DHCP, OLT/FTTP/FTTH/FTTC, Fibre technology.
- Accreditation: CCNP Service Provide or equivalent to 5 years + is desirable.
- Excellent verbal and listening communication skills is prerequisite to be able to document and hand over to others with the necessary detail to ensure continuity of work.
- Experience with Switches Huawei CX600, Alcatel 7210 platform.
- Experience with Cloud based systems.
- Knowledge of GIT, JIRA and Python or any other programming language .
- An ability to work with Open-config and Vendor specific NETCONF-YANG models, JSON and XML payload for network automation to configure and manage routers.
