Overview

Role: Senior PostgreSQL DBA

Location: Hyderabad, India

Experience & Qualifications:

• 8–12 years of hands-on PostgreSQL experience as primary DBA
• Experience with MySQL and/or Oracle as secondary databases
• Strong experience working closely with application development teams
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain PostgreSQL database servers across development, QA, UAT, and production environments.
• Own end-to-end database operations, including availability, performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Design, implement, and manage backup, recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Architect and maintain high-availability solutions using tools such as: Streaming Replication, Logical Replication, Patroni / Repmgr / Pgpool / Keepalived (as applicable)
• Manage database security including: Role-based access control
• Automate routine DBA and operational tasks using Shell, Python, Ansible, or similar tools.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues
• Plan and execute database migrations, patching, and major/minor version upgrades with minimal or zero downtime.
• Implement and manage connection pooling solutions (PgBouncer / Pgpool).
