The Role:

PulsePoint is currently seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Senior QA Engineer to perform and enhance our quality assurance efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing QA protocols, adhering to all testing procedures, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful deployment of high-quality products and services. This role involves a mix of manual and automated testing, defect management, and continuous process improvement in an Agile development environment.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain comprehensive test strategies, plans, cases, and scripts for software products.
• Design and execute comprehensive API test plans and test cases to validate the functionality, performance, reliability, and security of backend systems.
• Execute manual and automated tests and analyze test results to identify, document, and track defects using tools like Jira.
• Collaborate closely with development teams to understand API specifications (RESTful/SOAP) and ensure timely resolution of issues.
• Execute comprehensive regression testing across data dashboards, reports, and APIs to safeguard existing functionality during updates
• Conduct root cause analysis of identified issues and implement preventive measures to assure product reliability.
• Support automation development by developing and maintaining test scripts, ideally leveraging tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Postman, or SoapUI.
• Monitor quality metrics and prepare reports for stakeholders.
• Mentor and guide junior QA team members in testing techniques, including API testing.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience & strong knowledge of software testing methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) and the SDLC/STLC.
• Proficiency in manual and automated testing techniques, including functional, performance, security, and integration testing.
• Proven experience with API testing tools such as Postman, SoapUI, Swagger, or similar.
• Strong understanding of RESTful and/or SOAP web services and API architectures.
• Experience with test management and bug tracking tools (like Jira).
• Familiarity with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Playwright) and relevant programming/scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, Java).
• Knowledge of SQL for database validation.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and effective communication.
• Leadership abilities and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  
  

Hours and Location:

• You must be willing and able to work 12-9pm IST
• Note that our Director of QA is in the U.S. but the majority of the QA team is in India
• We offer both hybrid and remote options

• We are also open to hiring this as a fully remote role
  

Comp Structure and Benefits:

• Comp structure: fixed (inclusive of PF, Gratuity, and a 25k INR medical premium) + a target annual bonus that is approximately 5% of the gross annual earnings. Note that we don’t offer stock options

Selection Process:

• Online tech pre-screen via CodeSignal, consisting of 30 multiple-choice questions (15 mins)
• Intro phone screen (20 mins, U.S. time zone after 8:30pm IST)
• Initial interview with hiring manager (1 hour, could be conducted in India time zone after 12pm IST)
• Group Panel Interview with QA team (60 mins, could be conducted in India time zone after 12pm IST)
• Final interview with Director of QA (45 mins, U.S. time zone after 8:30pm IST)
