Focus of the Role
To design, build and support service assurance capabilities as a part of high performance software engineering team, delivering competitive advantage and enabling profitable growth, whilst managing the end-to-end development, delivery, technical design authority, integration requirements and lifecycle management of capabilities which expose reusable APIs for multiple internal and external consumers
What You’ll Do
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product owners, designers, and stakeholders to understand project requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Help Mentor junior people within the team.
- In-depth knowledge of AEM architecture, components, templates, and workflows.
- Proficiency in using AEM tools, including the AEM Developer Console and CRXDE.
- Design and implement responsive user interfaces using modern front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Typescript and front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular).
- Ability to create and customize AEM components.
- Understanding of Sightly (AEM's templating language) / HTL (HTML Template Language).
- Proficiency in developing Servlets, listeners and workflows in Java for AEM – to achieve automation.
- Develop server-side applications and RESTful APIs using back-end technologies such as Java.
- Integrate front-end and back-end components to create a seamless user experience.
- Ensure the application's performance, security, and scalability meet industry best practices and project requirements.
- Test and debug web applications to identify and resolve issues.
- Continuously improve and refactor code for better performance and maintainability.
- Actively participating in code reviews and giving constructive feedback.
- Stay up to date with latest technologies, frameworks, and industry trends.
Essential skills
- Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer with more than 8+ years’ experience and a strong portfolio.
- Ability to see beyond the task and question any irregularities.
- Ability to analyse impact of work beyond scope given.
- Big-picture mindset / Problem solving skills / Open mindedness / Self-reliance.
- Online application development principles and patterns/models
- Understanding of content focused development
- AEM technologies; AEM 6.x, JCR, OSGi Framework, Apache Sling Framework, AEM 6 Sightly, Content fragments, Workflow, AEM Caching strategy.
- AEM Environment architecture; author, publish, dispatcher, replicator agents – content states and behaviours,
- Java and related technologies; Java/J2EE, XML, JSP, JSTL & json
- HTML5, CSS 3, SASS, SCSS, Javascript, TypeScript, Web Accessibility, SEO
- Single page application and javascript framework like React js, bootstrap, AJAX, RESTful client
- Knowledge of accessibility tools and guidelines.
- Ability to fix SonarQube issues.
- Experience with Postman.
- Knowledge and experience of REST APIs and Apigee.
Desirable skills
- Strong understanding or experience with UX and/or Visual Design specialties.
- Experience with CI/CD practices and automation tools.
- Experience writing developer centric documentation.
- Requirements analysis and design
- Demonstrable experience in Tier 2 application development principles and patterns/models
- Test automation technologies: JUnit, EasyMock, Mockito, selenium, Jest
- Demonstrable experience/familiarity in: Agile methodology, Scrum, Jira, GIT, Bamboo and ansible scripts, New Relic
