Title: Senior Software Engineer
Reporting to: Senior Director, Product Development
Location: Bengaluru (Bangalore)
Opportunity:
Get Well is seeking a technically adept Senior Software Engineer to implement scalable, secure services and processing systems within a regulated healthcare environment.
Responsibilities:
Platform Development & Integration
Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices and APIs (REST and FHIR) to support AI agents, clinical applications, and third-party integrations.Implement secure and efficient interfaces to external services, ensuring seamless data exchange and interoperability with healthcare systems.Collaborate with the Staff Engineer/Software Architect to architect platform components that align with enterprise goals for scalability, reliability, and performance.Utilize modern frameworks and technologies (e.g., Spring Boot, Node.js, or Python Flask/FastAPI) to build robust platform services.
System Optimization & Reliability
Optimize platform services for performance, scalability, and fault tolerance, ensuring high availability in a healthcare-critical environment.Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting mechanisms to ensure system reliability and rapid issue resolution.Participate in code reviews, debugging, and performance tuning to maintain high standards of code quality and system efficiency.
Compliance & Security
- Ensure platform services adhere to healthcare regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR) by implementing secure coding practices, encryption, and access controls.
- Collaborate with governance and security teams to enforce data privacy and compliance standards across all platform services.
- Support audit trails and logging mechanisms to ensure traceability and compliance with healthcare data standards.
Collaboration & Agile Practices
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, AI/ML engineers, and product managers, to deliver integrated solutions.
- Contribute to agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, to drive continuous improvement.
- Mentor junior engineers and share best practices in software development, API design, and system architecture.
Innovation & Technical Expertise
- Stay informed about emerging trends in software engineering, cloud-native architectures, and healthcare interoperability standards.
- Prototype and evaluate new tools, frameworks, or technologies to enhance platform capabilities and support AI-driven applications.
- Advocate for best practices in software design, ensuring modularity, maintainability, and scalability in platform development.
Requirements:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3+ years in platform or backend development roles.
- Proven track record of designing and implementing scalable, cloud-native platforms or services.
Technical Proficiency
- Strong proficiency in at least two programming languages such as Java, Python, Go or JavaScript/TypeScript for building REST based APIs.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with API development frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot, FastAPI, Express.js) and service orchestration tools.
- Experience with message queues or event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ) is a plus.
- Good to have: Expertise in healthcare data standards such as FHIR, HL7, USCDI, or CCDA.
