Role Profile

• In this role, you'll be joining our Primary Markets Services Team responsible for developing and supporting cloud-based products and services crafted by the LSE.
• LSE offers flexible working with most engineers spending 3 days in the office a week.
  
  

Tech Profile

• 5+ years coding experience and be proficient in a high level language such as Java.
• Knowledge of cloud especially AWS.
• Experience of backend system development and support.
• 2+ years of working with at least one RDBMS (Oracle, SQL Server or PostgreSQL).
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix platform, backend system, web application servers (e.g. Apache, NGINX), and DevOps tools. (e.g. CI/CD, GIT, etc.).
• Good understanding of software engineering principles and object-oriented design.
• Familiar with Agile development process and tools (e.g. JIRA, Confluence etc.)
• Ability to take ownership of complex problems, come up with good solutions and deliver them.

• Experience of handling production issues.
• Experience of mentoring junior team members.
  
  

Education and Professional Skills

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject.
• Advanced English reading/writing capability required.
• Strong communication & articulation skills.
• Curious about new technologies and tools, creative thinking and initiative taking.
  
  

Detailed Responsibilities

• Work on any number of engineering projects within Primary Markets.
• Tackle engineering tasks with little oversight.
• Develop tools and applications by producing clean and efficient code, review others' code regularly.
• Build relationships with team and colleagues, collaborating closely with team.
• Communicates with transparency and precision in a concise format.
• Take initiative to improve systems regularly.
• Takes initiative to develop knowledge in technology products and tools through on the job learning, certifications and projects.
