As a Senior Software Engineer, you thrive on understanding and translating customer needs into new products and capability. You apply deep technical expertise and experience in software application layer solutions, to develop and deliver scalable design blueprints across the end-to-end software development life cycle. What You'll Do
. As a Senior Software Engineer, you apply deep experience and technical know-how in the Software Engineering domain to:
* Design, build and maintain multiple complex software application technologies and their interaction with Telstra processes and systems
* Develop innovative software that maintains data/network security management, and leverage set processes to reduce the time between commission and production
* Authentically engage with and influence a multi-stakeholder landscape to translate customer needs into leading-edge software application products, services or systems that meet Telstra's time, cost and quality standards
* Collaborate with team members and key stakeholders, seeking support, direction and buy-in to gather deep insights about the challenges and opportunities of our software application technologies and platforms
* Significantly contribute to continuous improvement initiatives of our systems and processes, to help define 'best practice' corporate testing standards and drive improved outcomes (e.g. productivity, customer experience and/or profitability)
* Lead initiatives or components of initiatives in line with the strategic direction of your team/mission, that have a significant degree of impact to the function or cross-functionally
* Take ownership of your own actions and decisions to drive positive outcomes within your team/mission, and provide guidance to more junior engineers in order to support their development and contribution to team/mission outcomes.
About You
Essential Skills:
1.Test Automation Expertise:
oProficient in designing, implementing, and maintainingautomated test frameworks.
oStrong experience in using industry-standard test automationtools (e.g., Selenium, Appium, JUnit)
oAbility to create and execute automated test cases for web,mobile, and API applications.
oDemonstrated experience in writing clean, maintainable, andscalable automation scripts.
2.Java Development Experience:
oProficient in Java programming language.
oSolid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP)principles.
oAbility to develop, debug, and maintain Java-basedautomation scripts.
oVery solid understanding of Maven.
3.Product Owner Skills:
oAbility to gather and prioritize product requirements, createuser stories, and maintain a product backlog.
oStrong communication and collaboration skills to interact with stakeholders, development teams, and other product owners.
oProficient in defining and communicating product vision,goals, and features to the development team.
Desired Skills:
1.Agile/Scrum Methodology:oExperience working in an Agile/Scrum developmentenvironment.oKnowledge of Agile principles and ceremonies.
2.Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD):oFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLabCI).
3.Testing Tools and Frameworks:oFamiliarity with additional testing tools and frameworks (e.g.,TestNG, JUnit, RestAssured).
4.Version Control:oExperience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
5.DevOps Skills:oUnderstanding of DevOps practices and tools.oExperience with AWS cloud services.
6.Problem-Solving Skills:oStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
7.Documentation and Reporting:oAbility to create clear and concise test documentation andreports.
