Senior Software Engineer, YouTube Shopping

Overview

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.
• 5 years of experience in iOS/Android app development.
• Experience in designing, developing, testing, and deploying scalable full-stack systems.

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
• Experience with YouTube or Google Commerce tech stack, and with business-to-consumer or e-commerce software.
• Excellent coding skills with a focus on writing well-structured, testable, and efficient code.

Responsibilities

• Review code developed by other engineers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
• Develop and deploy full-stack features, leveraging YouTube and Google Commerce technologies to empower creators.
• Utilize YouTube's infrastructure to build performant and reliable software.
• Work with engineering teams in various geographic locations, fostering communication and collaboration across time zones.
