Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Senior Software Test Engineer with 2.5 to 3 years of experience in Manual Testing to join our Quality Assurance team. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in executing test cases, identifying defects, and ensuring the quality of our software products. As a Senior Software Test Engineer, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and ensure that the software meets the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manual Testing:
• Create, review, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing for both new and existing features.
• Identify, record, and document detailed defects/bugs using tools such as Jira and Azure DevOps.
• Work with developers to reproduce and resolve issues in the software.
• Perform sanity and smoke tests for new builds/releases.
• Collaboration and Communication:
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand the requirements and functional specifications.
• Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and other Agile ceremonies.
• Communicate test progress, results, and issues to the team and management.
• Test Reporting and Documentation:
• Maintain clear documentation of test cases, test results, and defects.
• Provide regular updates on testing progress to project managers.
• Analyze and report test results to stakeholders, ensuring comprehensive test coverage and quality.
• Test Environment Setup:
• Ensure test environments are set up properly and aligned with the requirements for testing.
• Conduct test data creation and validation as needed for various test cases.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience:
• 3 years of hands-on experience in manual testing, with a solid understanding of the software development lifecycle and testing methodologies.
• Tools Proficiency:
• Strong working knowledge of Jira and Azure DevOps for defect tracking and test management.
• Familiarity with test case management tools and version control systems is a plus.
• Testing Knowledge:
• Experience with various types of testing, including functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing.
• Ability to design, execute, and maintain test cases and test scripts.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
• Attention to Detail:
• Ability to identify, analyze, and report issues accurately and thoroughly.
• Proactive in identifying gaps in test coverage and providing suggestions for improvement.
• Communication Skills:
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
• Problem-Solving:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex issues and determine their root causes.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• Knowledge of SQL for database testing and basic queries.
• Experience in API testing using tools like Postman is a plus.
• Exposure to test automation tools or frameworks (e.g., Selenium, QTP) is an advantage.
• Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) processes is desirable.
