THE ROLE

As a Senior Test Engineer – Workday, you will lead the quality assurance efforts for Trintech’s Workday integration solutions, including Workday Extend apps, Studio integrations, Core Connectors, and EIBs. This role involves ensuring end-to-end system integrity across HR, Finance, and operational workflows while championing best practices in functional, performance, and automation testing.

You will take ownership of test strategies and execution across complex integration scenarios, lead test automation efforts, and serve as a quality advocate throughout the development lifecycle. In this senior role, you will collaborate closely with product managers, developers, analysts, and enterprise stakeholders to proactively mitigate risk and uphold system reliability and compliance.

What You Will Do

• Lead the development, execution, and optimization of manual and automated test strategies for complex Workday integrations and extensibility solutions.
• Define quality metrics, develop test plans, and oversee regression, integration, functional, and performance testing activities across environments.
• Serve as the domain expert for QA within the Workday ecosystem—owning the testing scope for EIBs, Studio integrations, Workday Extend applications, and Workday APIs (REST/SOAP).
• Partner with cross-functional teams to define acceptance criteria, identify risks early, and validate end-to-end business process integrity.
• Collaborate with engineering and DevOps teams to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and improve test coverage.
• Develop reusable automated test cases for integration flows using modern testing frameworks and tools.
• Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior QA engineers and influence testing standards across teams.
• Lead defect triage and root cause analysis efforts, leveraging logs, application telemetry, and database investigations (SQL Server, Oracle).
• Contribute to the design and execution of performance testing plans for high-volume batch jobs and Workday integrations.
• Ensure test compliance with security, audit, and industry regulations specific to HR/Finance systems (e.g., SOX, GDPR).
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and drive continuous quality improvement through retrospectives and test metrics analysis.
  
  

Who You Are

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of hands-on software testing experience, with at least 2+ years in enterprise integration, SaaS, or financial/HR software environments.
• Strong working knowledge of Workday integration tools (EIB, Studio, Core Connectors, Workday Extend) or equivalent enterprise integration platforms.
• Deep understanding of SDLC/STLC and agile QA practices.
• Proficiency in test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Postman, RestAssured) and performance testing tools (e.g., LoadRunner, JMeter).
• Hands-on experience with test case management and defect tracking systems like JIRA/XRay or similar.
• Skilled in writing and analyzing SQL queries; ability to interpret backend behavior for validation and diagnostics.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting mindset with experience in root cause analysis and system-wide quality assurance.
• Prior exposure to Finance, Reconciliation, or Month-End Close systems is preferred.
