Job Title - Senior Technical Lead - Product Sustainment
Division - Weir Minerals
Location - EnSci, India
Onsite/Hybrid
Purpose of Role:
Purpose of this role is to execute and deliver design and engineering projects for mineral processing equipment in it’s through lifecycle. The role involves engineering support in resolving product related
issues during manufacturing, assembly, servicing and field operations.
The position will be in the Product Sustainment team with a primary focus to ensure that, the engineering issues reported from the field are thoroughly analyzed and solved in collaboration with SME’s and multiple stakeholders and design authorities of the product.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering with relevant experience and expertise on the design and functioning of the mineral processing equipment such as pumps, valves, cyclones, screens, crushers etc. Experience in mining or industrial machinery is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:
- Good knowledge and hands on experience exposed to multiple products / systems and understanding integration of different products.
- Proficient in executing projects by applying engineering skills and managing the project to meet the KPIs and deliverables.
- Quick response to field issues reported from the field or multiple stakeholders with solution-based approach and meet the KPIs
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all designs comply with safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement engineering changes and improvements.
- Maintain and update engineering documentation such as BOMs, drawings, and specifications.
- Champion a zero-harm safety culture, promoting Weir’s safety-first behaviors in the Teardown lab maintaining proper tools, safety protocols and documentation standards
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive product launches
- Bachelor’s or Masters in mechanical engineering or a closely related technical field in Mechanical or Manufacturing design.
- Proficient in CAD software, particularly Siemens NX, Teamcenter, and other engineering configuration management and documentation tools.
- Good knowledge on System Design and Analysis to ensure the equipment meet performance and safety standards. Good to have knowledge on simulation tools Eg – FEA (Ansys) etc
- Sound mathematical concepts, Engineering calculations for design and analysis.
- Innovative and problem solving & Team player
- Minimum of 8 to 12 years of experience in mineral processing equipment / product design preferably in the mining or heavy equipment industry.
- Good knowledge of hydro cyclones will be an added advantage, including its functions and the dynamics of form, fit and function and performance in the mineral processing circuit.
- Good understanding of simulation test reports and behavior of component & system load case.
- Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and Component design, manufacturing processes and product lifecycle management.
- Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional team and deliver results in multistakeholder, global environments.
- Familiarity with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) best practices.
- Strong documentation, communication and leadership skills, with the ability to present complex technical findings to diverse audiences.
