Position Overview

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented OTT Tester with 3–5` years of hands-on experience in validating OTT playback functionality. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing Build Verification Testing (BVT) and daily production sanity checks on Live and VOD content across various platforms including STB, Android, iOS, and Web. The candidate should be comfortable validating production environments and supporting pre- and post-upgrade validation during maintenance windows.

What You'll Do

• Perform daily BVT on Live and VOD content by connecting to all active Production Sites.
• Validate playback quality, buffer behavior, trick-play, player controls, and DRM status across platforms (STB, Android, iOS, Web).
• Conduct pre-upgrade and post-upgrade playback validation during maintenance or scheduled platform upgrades.
• Log and report production issues with proper logs, screenshots, and video captures.
• Escalate critical playback issues immediately to relevant stakeholders.
• Maintain clear test logs, dashboards, and reports for daily and upgrade-related BVT executions.
• Collaborate with DevOps, Product, and Engineering teams to triage issues and assist in RCA.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing checklists, SOPs, and regression packs.
  
  

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in OTT testing or media playback QA roles.
• Hands-on experience in validating OTT players on STB, Android, iOS, and Web platforms.
• Strong understanding of streaming protocols, adaptive bitrate (ABR) behavior, and DRM (Widevine/FairPlay) playback.
• Experience with real device testing and capturing logs using platform-specific tools (ADB, Charles Proxy, Xcode logs, etc.).
• Ability to test under varying network conditions and across different user scenarios.
• Comfortable working in production environments and during off-hour maintenance windows (occasionally).
  
  

Good-to-Have Skills

• Familiarity with OTT analytics tools (Conviva, Youbora, etc.).
• Understanding of ad-insertion workflows (pre-roll, mid-roll).
• Basic scripting (Python/Shell) for log collection or automation is a plus.
• Exposure to Agile/Scrum and experience with tools like Jira, TestRail, or Zephyr.
  
  

Work Schedule

• Daily BVT checks in production (flexible hours, depending on region).
• Must be available during planned upgrade windows (late night/early morning shifts occasionally).
  
  

Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Electronics, or related field.
