About the job:
Key Responsibilities:
1. Improve content recommendation systems using embeddings, clustering, and user interaction data.
2. Run A/B tests on recommendation scoring and evaluate reader engagement.
3. Develop NLP-powered author tools, including genre classification, sentiment and bias detection, and headline/CTA analysis.
4. Support search and autocomplete features, including hashtag and keyword suggestion models.
5. Contribute to spam and AI-generated content detection models to identify low-quality, NSFW, and spam content.
6. Experiment with clustering and topic modeling to identify trending themes and organize news.
7. Collaborate with backend and product teams to deploy ML features into production.
8. Participate in data collection, cleaning, and preprocessing pipelines.
9. Stay updated with the latest open-source ML/NLP research and tools.

Other Requirements:
- 1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, AI/ML, or a related field, or CS50 AI with equivalent practical experience.
- 2. Strong foundation in Python, AI concepts, and ML libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and scikit-learn.
- 3. Familiarity with NLP frameworks, including Hugging Face Transformers, spaCy, and NLTK.
- 4. Understanding of embeddings (e.g., BERT, MiniLM), clustering, and recommendation system techniques.
- 5. Basic knowledge of web technologies and APIs for model integration.
- 6. Eagerness to learn, experiment, and thrive in a startup environment.
- 7. Experience with vector databases such as FAISS, Weaviate, or Pinecone is an advantage.
- 8. Knowledge of Django or Flask for backend integration is a plus.
- 9. Prior projects in recommender systems, sentiment analysis, or text classification are preferred.
- 10. Familiarity with real-time systems such as WebSockets and streaming pipelines is an added advantage.
