About the Role:

Homes & Buildings is seeking an experienced and skilled Software Developer with excellent expertise in WordPress development, strong SEO skills, and the ability to manage hardware-related tasks. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in WordPress development, a solid understanding of web technologies, SEO best practices, and hands-on experience in IT hardware support. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive individual to work in a dynamic media-tech environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• WordPress Development:
• Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress themes, plugins, and templates.
• Manage website updates, performance optimization, and security enhancements.
• Collaborate with design and editorial teams to implement new features.
• SEO Management:
• Implement and manage on-page and off-page SEO strategies.
• Conduct keyword research, website audits, and SEO performance analysis.
• Optimize content, meta tags, and website structure for better search engine rankings.
• Frontend & Backend Development:
• Work with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
• Handle MySQL database management and API integrations.
• Implement responsive design and SEO best practices.
• Hardware Support:
• Provide support for office IT infrastructure including desktops, laptops, printers, and network devices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and network-related issues.
• Maintain inventory and documentation of IT assets.
• Performance Monitoring:
• Conduct performance checks and implement improvements for better website speed and SEO.
• Technical Collaboration:
• Work closely with editorial, marketing, and design teams to deliver technical solutions.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Minimum 3+ years of professional experience in WordPress development.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL.
• Strong understanding of WordPress architecture and coding standards.
• Mandatory strong SEO skills and proven experience in improving website rankings.
• Hands-on experience with hardware troubleshooting and IT support.
• Familiarity with hosting environments, DNS management, and server-side optimizations.
• Knowledge of responsive design and web accessibility.
• Good communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
