This role has been designed as ‘Hybrid’ with an expectation that you will work on average 2 days per week from an HPE office.

Job Description

Job Family Definition:

Designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for software enhancements and new products. Develops software including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases and Internet-related tools. Determines hardware compatibility and/or influences hardware design.

Management Level Definition

Contributes to assignments of limited scope by applying technical concepts and theoretical knowledge acquired through specialized training, education, or previous experience. Acts as team member by providing information, analysis and recommendations in support of team efforts. Exercises independent judgment within defined parameters.

Group Description

Team is responsible of driving technology leadership in Juniper’s switching products (MX, PTX and ACX), deployed in some of the world’s largest enterprises and data centers. JDI is driving Juniper’s growth in revenue and market share in switching, routing space, by delivering market leading products with continuous innovation and relentless execution.

About The Position

The Software Engineer in Test is a highly technical role in Networking Products validation and automation of test cases. The Candidate should be well versed with networking fundamentals, cos, firewall, L2/L3 protocols ,virtualization technologies and test frameworks & test automation.

• Platforms features qualification
• Design quality test plan based on Requirements
• Building topology required for testing
• Good analytical skills
• Execute test cases and create automation scripts.
• Provide weekly reports on progress
  
  

What You Need To Bring

Desired Technology Knowledge on:

• Switches and IP Networking Fundamentals.
• Internet Protocols: TCP/UDP/IPv4/IPv6
• Expertise in one of the below technical areas
• Layer 2:
• Data center & Switching technologies
• STP,RSTP,MSTP
• Access control, DHCP,Dot1X,POE
• FCOE
• Virtual chassis, clustering
• Layer 3:
• Routing and routed protocols
• MPLS, LDP, RSVP,L3VPN,L2VPN
• OSPF,ISIS,BGP
• Platform specific features :
• COS ,Firewall,ACL
• Schedulers ,Rate limiters
• Virtualization technologies
• Multi chassis, clustering
• Automation is mandatory for all technical areas
• Perl, python
  

Education/Qualification

• BE/BTEC/ME/MTEC from reputed university/college
• 2-4+ year of experience in networking products qualification
• Certifications in networking like JNCIA/JNCIS/JNCIP or equivalent will be an added advantage
• Google Gtest, Python unit class based test and Machine learning experience will be added advantage
