To be successful as a Software Engineer - AVP, you should have experience with:

• Java v.8+ and above. Must have solid understanding of Core Java, REST API’s, Concurrency. Experience in memory management, profiling, etc.
• Cloud Concepts and Developer Lifecycle on AWS
• Spring Boot v.2+, v.3+, Spring Batch, Spring JDBC, Hibernate JPA.
• Working experience in SOLID principles, design patterns.
• Junit, Mockito, Power Mock, Spring testing framework, etc.
• Experience deploying applications with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Versioning tools like Git, Bitbucket or GitLab.
• Debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Working experience in Agile Methodology.
• Structured approach to problem solving and ability to manage parallel streams of work.
• Strong interpersonal and written/oral communications skills.
• Experience working in setting up cloud infrastructure using CloudFormation, Terraform.
• Experience of DevOps tooling such as Nexus, Gitlab, Jira etc.
• Experience in working & configuring wide range of AWS services such as API Gateway, Lambda, ECS, Elastic Load Balancers, EC2, MSK, RDS – Oracle preferred.
• Good experience in Cloud technology like AWS (OpenShift etc.).
• Build and Deployment tools (CI/CD, Jenkins).
• Good to have Jira, Confluence.
  
  
  

• Exposure to working within a controlled environment such as banking and financial services.
• Experience in Docker and at least one Docker Container orchestration – Amazon ECS/EKS, Kubernetes.
• Network experience, aware of cloud network patterns such as VPC, network interconnect, subnets, peering, firewalls, etc.
• Relevant AWS certification(s).

Purpose of the role

To lead and manage engineering teams, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions, driving technical excellence, fostering a culture of innovation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to align technical decisions with business objectives.

Accountabilities

• Lead engineering teams effectively, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture to achieve project goals and meet organizational objectives.
• Oversee timelines, team allocation, risk management and task prioritization to ensure the successful delivery of solutions within scope, time, and budget.
• Mentor and support team members' professional growth, conduct performance reviews, provide actionable feedback, and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Evaluation and enhancement of engineering processes, tools, and methodologies to increase efficiency, streamline workflows, and optimize team productivity.
• Collaboration with business partners, product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions and ensure a cohesive approach to product development.
• Enforcement of technology standards, facilitate peer reviews, and implement robust testing practices to ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions.
