Software Engineer - Backup & Storage

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Design, install, and configure enterprise backup software (Commvault - mandatory, Veeam, Druva, Avamar)
• Administer and manage backup environments for both internal and customer-facing servers
• Maintain and monitor server infrastructure including end-user backup systems
• Provide support for core technologies including Microsoft, Cisco, VMware, and Dell-EMC
• Manage Windows Server infrastructure (50+ servers) and virtualization platforms (VMware ESX, Microsoft Hyper-V)
• Develop and implement project plans, including risk assessments and contingency strategies
• Create and manage monitoring, reporting, and configuration management systems
• Maintain thorough documentation of systems, assets, and procedures
• Configure Group Policies and manage Active Directory/LDAP
• Provide after-hours and weekend support for emergency maintenance and project work
• Assist with vendor evaluation, selection, and negotiations for hardware/software solutions
• Mentor and cross-train team members on backup and storage technologies
• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues, including network and backbone components
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by management
• Interact with clients and internal stakeholders at a technical level

Skills Required:

• Strong expertise in Commvault (MANDATORY)
• Hands-on experience with backup solutions like Veeam, Druva, Avamar
• Advanced knowledge of Windows Server (2008/2012/2016/2019/2022)
• Solid understanding of LAN/WAN networking principles
• Proficiency in Linux/Unix administration
• Experience with Group Policy, Active Directory/LDAP
• Ability to manage large-scale deployments and server rollouts
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities
