About The Role

We are seeking experienced Databricks Developers to join our migration team, focusing on the strategic transition from legacy Teradata systems to a modern Databricks environment on Azure/AWS/GCP. The ideal candidates will play a pivotal role in migrating, designing, and optimizing large-scale data pipelines and ETL workflows, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability in our new cloud data ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Migration & Development: Lead and execute the migration of complex ETL processes, SQL scripts, and data pipelines from Teradata to Databricks (Spark SQL, PySpark).
• Design & Optimization: Design, develop, and optimize scalable data processing solutions using Databricks, Delta Lake, and Apache Spark.
• Data Modeling: Convert Teradata data models (BTEQ, SQL) into efficient Databricks-compatible structures (Delta Tables).
• Performance Tuning: Tune Spark jobs and Databricks workflows for optimal performance and cost-efficiency.
• Collaboration: Work closely with data architects, analysts, and business teams to ensure accurate data translation and seamless integration.
• Best Practices: Implement Databricks best practices for CI/CD, data governance, security, and data quality frameworks.
• Documentation: Create detailed migration plans, technical documentation, and runbooks.
  
  

• 3–5 years of experience in data engineering with a strong focus on Databricks and Apache Spark.
• Hands-on experience in migrating from Teradata to a cloud data platform (Databricks on AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Proficiency in PySpark, Spark SQL, and Scala (at least one).
• Solid understanding of Delta Lake, data lakehouse architecture, and cloud data services.
• Experience with ETL/ELT design, data warehousing concepts, and performance optimization.
• Familiarity with Teradata SQL, BTEQ scripts, and utilities.
