Overview
Role: Software Engineer - Platform Engineering
Department: Platform Team
Type: Fulltime
Location: Bangalore
Experience: 2-3 Years
About ClickPost:
Established in 2015, ClickPost is Asia’s fastest-growing Logistics Intelligence Platform, dedicated to enhancing post-purchase experiences for retail brands. With seamless integration with over 500+ carriers, we empower leading retailers across India, including 6 Unicorns, to manage 120+ logistics partners via a single API gateway. Backed by Times Internet, Rebright Partners, and other marquee investors, we have achieved profitability and experienced exponential growth, expanding 10x in the past 2 years.
About the Platform Team:
The Platform Team is the engineering backbone that keeps ClickPost fast, observable, and cost-efficient at scale. We don’t ship customer-facing features — we build the systems, tooling, and infrastructure that let every other team move quickly and reliably.
Our work spans three areas:
Internal platform & tooling: We build the systems that abstract away infrastructure, deployment, and operational complexity, so product and customer-facing teams can deliver value without fighting the plumbing.
Observability & performance: We build deep, kernel-level visibility into production systems (eBPF, perf, ftrace) to find bottlenecks, profile services, and keep latency low across a platform processing over 1 billion events daily.
Efficiency & cost: We continuously profile and optimize infrastructure, turning performance wins into real cloud-cost savings.
Our debugging often goes all the way down to the kernel — and when we find bugs in the systems we depend on, we fix them and contribute the patches upstream. Members of our team have merged fixes into mainline Linux across filesystems, memory management, and drivers, as well as into open-source projects like OpenTelemetry. Unlike most teams, we don’t stay in userspace; we go deeper, into the kernel, and solve problems at their source. We’re a small, high-ownership team that works directly with founders on high-impact problems. If you like going deep — understanding why a system behaves the way it does, not just patching the symptom — this is the team for you.
About the Role:
- We’re looking for a Software Engineer to join our Platform Team and help build the tooling and internal systems that bridge the gap between our technical and customer-facing teams. You’ll design and maintain systems that abstract away the complexity of infrastructure, deployment, and operations — so business teams can move faster and deliver more value to customers.
- This is a high-ownership role. You’ll work closely with senior engineers and founders to turn ambiguous business problems into well-built, measurable systems. We’re hiring at the 2–3 year mark because we want someone who already writes solid production code and is ready to grow quickly into owning entire workflows end to end.
What You’ll Do:
- Build and maintain internal tools that abstract away infrastructure, deployment, and operational complexity for non-platform teams
- Design event-driven workflows that move critical business data reliably across teams and systems
- Build kernel-level observability tooling (eBPF, perf, ftrace — profiling, tracing, and instrumentation) to debug performance bottlenecks in production
- Instrument and improve observability so complex systems become understandable and debuggable
- Partner with product teams and founders to turn ambiguous business problems into well- scoped, measurable systems
- Own the systems you build — from design through production, monitoring, and iteration
Your First 6 Months:
Month 1 — Ramp up on our services, tooling, and processes; ship your first improvements to internal tooling.
Month 3 — Build complex workflows that deliver critical business data from product teams to the rest of the org.
Month 6 — Own engineering-driven business processes end to end, and become the go-to person for the systems you’ve built.
What You’ll Own & Build:
- Internal tools for observability — kernel-level and system-wide visibility into production
- Static analysis tooling that makes development safer and easier
- CI/CD pipelines — building and maintaining them as core developer infrastructure
- Infrastructure cost — monitoring, attribution, and optimization
Why Join the Platform Engineering Team:
- Impact at scale — The platform you build processes over 1 billion events daily through event-driven pipelines and high-throughput databases.
- Drive visibility — Introduce tools and processes that make complex systems observable and understandable across the company.
- Real ownership — Every engineer here is empowered to own their work completely, drive the product forward, and be an integral part of our growth.
What we are looking for:
- 2–3 Years of hands-on experience building and shipping production applications.
- Strong programming fundamentals, with the ability to write clean, maintainable code
- Understanding of a low-level language like C, along with a scripting language like Python
- Hands-on experience working in cloud environments
- Comfortable working with databases and event-driven systems
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills — you can break down an ambiguous business problem and turn it into a working system
- A genuine willingness to go deep — past the application layer, into the OS and kernel — to understand and solve problems at their root
- A bias for ownership and speed: you ship, measure, and iterate
Bonus points for:
- Exposure to systems-level work — Linux internals, profiling, or performance debugging with eBPF, perf, or ftrace
- Familiarity with high-throughput databases (Scylla), event queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ), or workload orchestrators (Nomad)
- Open-source contributions — we value engineers who engage with the wider community
- Experience building internal tools, automation, or developer-facing platforms
Perks & Benefits:
We are committed to offering competitive benefits programs for all our employees and enhancing our programs when necessary.
- Competitive salary package with performance-based bonuses.
- Comprehensive health insurance coverage for you and your dependents.
- Flexible working hours with Hybrid work arrangement.
- Generous vacation and time off.
- Continuous learning and professional development opportunities.
- Employee assistance program for mental health and well-being support.
- Supportive and inclusive work culture promoting diversity and collaboration.
