Your Role And Responsibilities

We're looking for talented Platform Security engineers with a passion for learning and execution to join our Security Engineering Team. In this role, you will be working to build and own enterprise-grade security features in Datastax products, especially for the Astra suite of products. If you are interested in working on challenging security and scalability problems in a fast-paced, multi-cloud environment, this is the role for you!

Our engineers take an active role throughout the lifecycle of the project development by collaborating extensively with internal teams across . They create technical designs, perform code reviews, coordinate releases, support existing customers, and review documentation for the project

What You Will Do

• As a member of our Platform Security engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, estimating, building, shipping, and owning security features in Astra suite of products.
• You will develop deeper expertise in authentication, encryption and access control functions, and provide consultation for other parts of the organization.
• You will provide on-call support for the components owned by the team on a rotational basis.
• You will work closely with the Product Management and Product Engineering teams to deliver high quality features on a predictable timeline.
  
  

Preferred Education

Master's Degree

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

• 4- 6 years of relevant experience
• Solid coding skills in one of these languages: Golang (preferred), Java or Python
• Good understanding of large-scale distributed systems & microservices architecture
• Exposure to Kubernetes
• Experience with at least one public cloud environment (AWS is preferred)
• Foundational knowledge on authentication, encryption and access control functions
• Solid team player who demonstrates initiative, enthusiasm and positivity
• Quality first and continuous improvement attitude
