Overview
About RipplingRippling gives businesses one place to run HR, IT, and Finance. It brings together all of the workforce systems that are normally scattered across a company, like payroll, expenses, benefits, and computers. For the first time ever, you can manage and automate every part of the employee lifecycle in a single system.
Take onboarding, for example. With Rippling, you can hire a new employee anywhere in the world and set up their payroll, corporate card, computer, benefits, and even third-party apps like Slack and Microsoft 365—all within 90 seconds.
Based in San Francisco, CA, Rippling has raised $1.8B+ from the world’s top investors—including Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, Sequoia, Greenoaks, and Bedrock—and was named one of America's best startup employers by Forbes.

About The Role
Rippling is forming a new Tasks & Approvals team to own one of the most important user experiences in the product: how customers see, prioritize, and complete work across Rippling. Today, tasks and approvals are spread across multiple surfaces with inconsistent UX and fragmented sources of truth. This team’s mission is to unify them into a single, intuitive, high-trust experience that helps users get work done quickly and confidently.
As an L5 frontend-leaning Full stack engineer, you’ll play a key role in shaping this experience from the ground up. You’ll work on product workflows that sit at the center of Rippling’s platform, building user-facing interfaces while also partnering closely on APIs, backend integrations, and system design. This is a high-ownership role on a new team with the chance to influence product direction, technical architecture, and engineering culture early.
What You Will Do
- Build and evolve the core Tasks & Approvals experience across list, grid, and split-view workflows.
- Design polished, high-performance interfaces that help users prioritize, review, and complete work efficiently.
- Ship features such as filtering, search, saved views, pinning, snoozing, prioritization, and richer approval details.
- Partner with backend engineers to define APIs and data models that make Tasks Inbox the centralized source of truth.
- Help standardize extensible UI patterns so teams across Rippling can plug their task and approval experiences into a common platform.
- Improve product quality through strong engineering practices in performance, observability, testing, and maintainability.
- Collaborate closely with product, design, mobile, and partner teams to shape the roadmap and deliver a cohesive user experience.
- 1 to 2 years of experience in Frontend-leaning Full stack engineering roles.
- Strong frontend engineering skills, ideally with React and TypeScript.
- Comfort working across the stack and contributing to API design, data flows, and backend-powered product experiences.
- Experience building user-facing products with complex state, dense workflows, or data-rich interfaces.
- Strong product sense and a high bar for usability, quality, and performance.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-moving environments with high ownership and cross-functional collaboration.
- Clear communication and a pragmatic approach to shipping incremental value while building toward a longer-term platform vision.
