Job Title: Software Developer – Automotive & EV Products
Job Summary:
The Software Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and validating embedded and application software for automotive and electric vehicle (EV) control systems. This includes developing software for ECUs, Battery Management Systems (BMS), Motor Controllers, Vehicle Control Units (VCUs), and diagnostics tools, ensuring compliance with industry standards and robust performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement embedded software for automotive and EV electronic control units (ECUs) using C/C++ and model-based design tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink).
- Develop software modules for real-time control, communication protocols (CAN, LIN, FlexRay, UDS), diagnostics, and safety-critical applications.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to ensure seamless hardware-software integration, debugging, and system validation.
- Develop and maintain test cases for unit, integration, and system-level software validation, including Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and SIL (Software-in-the-Loop) testing.
- Participate in requirements analysis, architecture design, and software documentation according to ASPICE or relevant automotive standards.
- Support ISO 26262 functional safety activities, if applicable, including software FMEA and safety code development.
- Assist with OTA (Over-the-Air) software updates, bootloader development, and version control.
- Provide technical support during product launches, validation, and customer field testing.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE), Computer Science, or related field.
- 1–5 years of experience in embedded software development for automotive or EV systems preferred (freshers with strong academic projects can be considered for junior roles).
- Strong programming skills in C/C++ for embedded systems; knowledge of Python for scripting or test automation is an advantage.
- Experience with communication protocols: CAN, LIN, UDS, ISO-TP.
- Familiarity with microcontrollers, RTOS concepts, and low-level driver development.
- Experience with version control systems (Git, SVN).
- Exposure to functional safety (ISO 26262), ASPICE, and AUTOSAR is an added advantage.
- Good understanding of debugging tools, logic analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
