The Role

We're looking for a versatile Software Engineer who operates at the intersection of robust backend systems and modern AI. You'll own critical parts of our technical stack from designing scalable services to building intelligent systems that understand and respond to complex health contexts. This is a foundational hire where your architectural decisions will define how we scale.

What You'll Do

• Architect and build backend services that form the backbone of our platform
• Design AI-powered systems including conversational interfaces, analytical engines, and personalization layers
• Work with LLMs and agentic frameworks to create intelligent, context-aware experiences
• Build data infrastructure for ingesting, processing, and deriving insights from diverse health inputs
• Partner with the founding team on technical strategy and product direction
• Ship fast, iterate faster, and maintain high engineering standards

What We're Looking For

Backend Engineering

• Strong command of Node.js and/or Python (FastAPI preferred)
• Experience designing APIs and working with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar databases
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architecture
• Comfortable with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure)

AI/ML Development

• Hands-on experience integrating LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, or equivalent)
• Familiarity with agent frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or Pydantic AI
• Working knowledge of prompt engineering, tool calling, and conversational memory systems
• Exposure to RAG architectures, embeddings, and vector databases is a plus

General

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Thrives in ambiguity and moves fast without sacrificing quality
• Strong first-principles thinking and rapid learning ability
• Clear communicator who can articulate technical tradeoffs

Nice to Have

• Healthtech know how
• Background in document intelligence, OCR, or structured data extraction
• Mobile development chops (React Native, Flutter)
• Prior experience at early-stage startups
