Key Responsibilities
- Perform technical triage on reported issues, approaching each with healthy skepticism and confirming how the system actually behaves through reproduction, code analysis, and evidence
- Learn the EHR application end‑to‑end from the front end, understanding user workflows and how those actions translate into system behavior
- Read and trace existing code paths to understand system interactions and identify likely failure points (ASP.NET, SQL Server, Classic ASP, with exposure to additional technologies)
- Reproduce issues in lower or production‑like environments using workflows, test data, configuration, logs, and screenshots
- Assess reported issues to determine whether they are investigable, identifying missing information early and driving clear next steps
- Produce clear, structured investigation notes (reproduction steps, expected vs. actual behavior, scope/impact, supporting evidence) to enable effective handoff to other teams
- Ability to read and understand web application code and database logic for analysis and debugging
- Willingness to deeply learn a large, mature codebase and application surface area
- Familiarity with relational data concepts and SQL
- Comfort in reasoning about how front‑end actions affect backend state
- Comfortable working through ambiguity and incomplete information
- Enjoys validating behavior, forming evidence‑based conclusions, and knowing when investigation should pause pending more information
- Works collaboratively within a cross‑functional team and communicates technical findings clearly in writing and discussion
- Strong curiosity, attention to detail, and interest in debugging real‑world system behavior
- Ability to communicate investigation results clearly and unambiguously in English, both in writing and discussion
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 0–2 years of experience in software engineering, QA/automation, production support engineering, or technical investigation roles
